Our mission is to introduce and showcase authentic traditional Japanese products, as well as Japanese culture in order to support local craftsmen in Japan and preserve the masterful techniques that have been passed down for generations.
Our Story
KMNO Japan is operated by a Japanese Kimono Company,
「近江屋」Ohmiya.
「近江屋」Ohmiya was established in 1930 in Nagoya, Japan. Starting out as a small Kimono-textile retailing shop, Ohmiya grew to become one of the top selling quality Kimono merchandisers by the mid-’80s, all run by a hard working, passionate family.
Traditional Japanese Kimono are produced through many layers of intricate production processes; including weaving, dyeing, embroidery, sewing, and tailoring. Each step in the Kimono creation process is taken care of by specialized craftsmen to create the finest and highest quality Kimono.
Throughout our almost 100 years of Kimono merchandise history, we have built strong connections with Kimono experts to deliver Kimono that will be appreciated and valued for generations.
KMNO Japan shares the same philosophy, merchandising only the finest and highest quality Japanese products, embodying an aesthetic pursuit akin to Ohmiya, our original store specializing in traditional Kimono merchandise.
